We're excited to announce that the 2025 plans for this event have been extended into Spring of 2026. This extended timeframe is to our advantage to ensure a uniquely captivating event for kids.
We've been behind-the-scenes brainstorming, marketing, and designing this Melted Crayons Mission's next-level and direct-to-community involvement since last Summer. This special event not only supports the art through participation and awareness, it also honorably helps other kids in need.

The Quarter Mile of Crayons Special Features
- 4370 Crayola crayons laid end-to-end on a 1/4 mile course.
- A few dozen kids performing a choreographed routine, with disability-inclusive design built into the line.
- Every crayon becomes inventory for children across the nation, facing the loss of their belongings due to fire or other disasters.
- Every participant receives a Crayon keepsake for a lifetime memory and story.
A world record attempt built for kids, by kids—and rooted right here in Broomfield. We’re inviting the community to help launch the most symbolic art supply event ever designed for children and families impacted by loss.
There are many important roles in the success of this upcoming event, and it has to be special. This is the critical 'soft-launch' phase aimed toward research, participant involvement, and early-stage support opportunities for sponsors. We're making it real, with real people and real impact.
Why This Event Matters
This is about more than crayons.
It’s about giving kids something to be part of...
Something with weight.
Something with meaning.
And One More Thing...
We’re tapping into our network. Don’t be surprised if a few recognizable names and faces join the crayon line.
With the help from organizations, individuals, and the City of Broomfield, we are exploring our options for the perfect location to perform this event. The path required for this quarter mile of crayons needs to be not only fun, but also it needs to meet our requirements to ensure accessibility for children with disabilities.
